ClearLine Technology Methods
LabDocs Automation Checklist
Use this when lab work is not blocked by science, but by document cleanup: COAs, COCs, labels, workbooks, benchsheets, exports, and delivery packages.
Best first move: preserve the parts of the existing workflow that work, then remove duplicate entry, stale template values, manual file packaging, and fragile handoffs.
COAs and reports
- Which fields are manually edited after generation?
- Which client/method/matrix defaults change the report?
- Which attachments must travel with the final PDF?
- What review step catches bad output before delivery?
COCs, labels, and benchsheets
- Where are COCs generated, stored, and attached?
- Which labels are printed at intake, analysis, or storage?
- Which benchsheet values should be cleared before reuse?
- Which fields must match the LIMS, workbook, and final deliverable?
Excel and exports
- Which workbooks are worth preserving?
- Which cells contain stale demo/template data?
- Which exports need CSV, XLSX, PDF, or client-specific structure?
- Which steps can be automated without replacing the whole system?
Scope control
- Start with one document path.
- Define acceptance using a real sample/client workflow.
- Separate nice-to-have formatting from delivery-critical behavior.
- Do not promise external validator readiness without actual validation evidence.
